The National Wealth Fund (NWF) is a policy bank bringing together public and private sector strengths to unlock the UK's future. With £27.8 billion of core capitalisation, NWF aims to support government's growth and clean energy missions, attract significant private capital, and generate returns for taxpayers. Their strategic plan focuses on investing in capital-intensive infrastructure, supply chains, and businesses across the UK, driving over £100 billion of finance to foster long-term economic growth and accelerate the transition to clean energy. They provide a range of financing tools including loans, guarantees and equity investments for projects aligning with their strategy and support local government to develop and accelerate regionally significant projects, providing project development, commercial and financial expertise, and investment support. The NWF is operationally independent but wholly owned by HM Treasury, with their relationship defined in a framework document.
