Nordic Web Ventures

Nordic Web Ventures, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, is an early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2017 by solo general partner Neil S. W. Murray, who brings a background in media, community building, and early internet businesses. The firm recently closed its third fund, Fund III, at $6 million despite attracting over $20 million in interest, intentionally capping it to prioritize alignment, speed, and high signal-to-noise ratio; it plans to deploy into 30-35 companies with first institutional checks around $200,000. With a portfolio exceeding 50 companies, notable investments include the unicorn-status Lovable, SafetyWing (remote worker insurance), Sanity (headless CMS), Uizard (acquired UI design tool), PortalOne, Dreamdata, Digitail, and others across AI, robotics, deeptech, SaaS, fintech, and consumer tech. The firm's investment philosophy emphasizes founder-first investing in technically deep, engineering-driven teams from the Nordic region (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland), focusing on AI-native startups, robotics, deeptech, and selectively consumer products leveraging Nordic strengths in computer science, manufacturing, and design; it values speed, trust, granular ecosystem knowledge, and post-investment support via informal advisory boards from its LP network of entrepreneurs and investors, aiding in product launches, hiring, and fundraising for institutional rounds.
