Irish Venture Capital Association

The Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA) is the representative body for venture capital and private equity firms on the island of Ireland. Their primary focus is empowering the next generation of Irish companies driving the future economy. The IVCA aims to achieve this by advocating for public policies that strengthen the Irish entrepreneurial ecosystem and ensuring that sufficient funding is available for high-potential Irish companies. They facilitate interaction among members, institutional investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and academics, working with stakeholders to develop and implement relevant policies. The IVCA also represents the industry's interests to regulators and standard setters. They convene working groups and communities of practice, develop and promote professional standards and training, and provide industry research. Hosting networking events and forums are also key parts of their strategy. Their overall objective is to nurture and bolster the venture capital and private equity landscape in Ireland, creating a supportive environment for startups and growing companies. They achieve this through a variety of membership types: Full Members consist of VC and PE firms funding unquoted companies; Affiliate Members are overseas firms or companies playing a significant role in the Irish VC/PE ecosystem; and Associate Members are advisory firms offering expertise in finance, law and accounting. By bringing together these diverse participants, the IVCA creates a vibrant ecosystem that fosters innovation, economic growth, and transformation across Ireland and internationally.
