INiTS

INiTS is Vienna's High-Tech Incubator, established in 2002 by the University of Vienna, the Vienna University of Technology, and the Vienna Business Agency. Its primary goal is to foster the commercialization of R&D results from academic environments through spin-offs and startups. They focus on supporting high-performing startups in research, technology, and innovation (FTI). INiTS employs a “Collaborative Business Modelling” approach coupled with tailored consulting and training services, access to STARTKapital financing, and a strong partner network to drive startup success. They aim to be a driving force in the Austrian startup ecosystem, supporting academic institutions in technology commercialization and the creation of new spin-off companies. INiTS offers a range of programs to support startups at different stages. START:IP provides a technology marketplace where entrepreneurs can commercialize technologies from academic or industrial research. The AplusB SCALEup program provides incubation services and supports growth through financing and networking. STARTKapital offers risk-free equity capital to SCALEup startups. Health Hub Vienna is an acceleration program focused on health/life sciences startups. INiTS is positioned as a central hub for technology startups, addressing the needs of not only startups but also investors, companies, universities, and research institutions. They have been recognized by UBI Global as a top university business incubator. Their model includes offering up to €100,000 in STARTKapital, running a 100-day Startup Camp within their SCALEup program, and providing tailored workshops and 1:1 consulting. They also facilitate connections with pilot projects, cooperations, and investments through programs like Health Hub Vienna.
