The Brabant Development Agency (BOM) invests in innovative companies that contribute to major transitions in four key themes: Sustainable Food, A Healthy Future, Climate-Neutral Energy, and Promising Key Technologies. BOM aims to accelerate growth, strengthen the innovation climate, open international doors, and attract companies to Brabant that add real value. BOM's investment strategy focuses on supporting startups and scale-ups with capital, knowledge, and network, building a strong, sustainable, and leading Brabant. BOM operates through three main pillars: Developing strong ecosystems, Investing in innovative entrepreneurs, and Internationalising Brabant-based companies. In the 'Developing' pillar, BOM fosters growth in ecosystems, accelerates innovation through programs, pilots, and test locations, promotes collaborations, and facilitates access to partners and capital. The 'Investing' pillar provides funding to innovative entrepreneurs, with investments up to €5 million, patient capital, investments in funds, and a broad network of co-investors. The 'Internationalising' pillar helps companies explore new markets, identify international partners, discover innovation clusters, collaborate with foreign companies, and leverage international promotion of Brabant. BOM actively works towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by investing in companies that contribute to goals such as Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, and Life on Land. The organization aligns its investment strategy with the ROM-Code, which provides clarity about the role and responsibility of supervisory board members nominated by a ROM.
